Wool Week 2022

Wool Week 2022 starts next week from the 3rd of October. The month-long campaign, now in it's 13th year, celebrates all things wool, and we're proud to be a part of it. The campaign was launched in 2010 and is supported by HM King Charles III. It continues to engage consumers through exciting fashion, interiors, artisan and design lead activities centring around wool.

Why do we love wool so much? Wool has many benefits. Firstly, wool is a natural protein fibre found on the backs of millions of sheep. It is considered one of the most effective forms of all-weather protection. It's biodegradable and naturally decomposes. It also releases valuable nutrients back into the earth, which is excellent for the environment. It’s renewable. As long as there is grass to graze, sheep will grow to produce a new woolly fleece. It’s breathable too. As wool fibres are packed tightly together, tiny pockets of air form allowing the material to absorb and release moisture. This makes wool extremely breathable and helpful to control perspiration.

We have a fantastic selection of wool slippers here at The Slipper Box. These cover a variety of both male and female fashions, from Shepherd of Sweden's Jon & Cilla, to Stegmann's exquisite wool slippers. There are many options available to us when it comes to wool; we've showcased our favourite below.
